Item Ref: 405

A fine and rare baluster mead/white wine glass, having a large cup bowl over a stem with a teared triple annular knop and basal knop, all on a folded conical foot.

Height 5 13/16th ins 14.8 cm

Previously documented as mead glasses these are now considered to have been more than likely used for white wine , particularly Rhenish white which was very popular in England during the 18th century.

A very fine example in perfect original condition with only a small enclosed bubble and light signs of use to the bowl interior worthy of mention.
