Mead/White Wine Glass

Mead/White Wine Glass

C1700

Item Ref: 878

A very nice mead or white wine glass possibly late 17thc ,having a cup bowl with gadrooning to the base of the bowl, over a hollow bobbin stem, all on a folded conical foot.

Height 5 ins 12.7 cm

Gadrooned glasses with cup bowls have traditionally been called mead glasses however current thinking is that they were more probably used with white wine.

A lovely example in perfect original condition.
