A very finely engraved opaque twist wine glass , having a round funnel bowl with flute moulding to the lower half ,engraved with a mermaid with mirror and comb and the initials O B within a leaf cartouche on the reverse ,over a single series stem and standing on a plain conical foot which has a couple of dark soot particles

Height 6 1/4 ins 15.8 cm

Apart from a very minor polish to remove a tiny chip from the foot rim the glass is in superb condition.

There is always a first for somethings , and a mermaid engraved on an eighteenth century glass is a first for me .
