An engraved balustroid ale glass, having a tall funnel bowl engraved with simple flowers over a plain stem with basal knop,all on a wide folded conical foot.

A simple yet elegant glass which is surprisingly uncommon,the scarcity of balustroid ales is noted in E B Haynes, Glass Through The Ages, Group 111 p 225 and 224 along with p 231 and 232.

A lovely example with good dark grey metal and in perfect original condition.
