A lovely mead or white wine glass, having a large cup bowl over a stem with a heavy triple annular knop over an inverted baluster and basal knop , all on a folded conical foot .

Height 5 5/8th ins 14.3 cm

Although these are traditionally known as mead glasses it is more likely they are derived from continental Roemers which were used for white wine and particularly Rhenish white wine which was popular in England at this date . ref Dwight Lanmon The Golden Age of English Glass p 93
