Hollow Stem Candlestick

Hollow Stem Candlestick

1750/75

Item Ref: 247

A hollow stem candlestick dating from the second half of the 18th Century.

You will occasionally see these candlesticks with the title "Facon De Venise" and attributed to the late 17th or early 18th century due to there being examples listed in elderly reference books such as W A Thorpe, A History of English Glass 1929,however having been written almost 90 years ago glass knowledge has moved on somewhat since then and most in fact now believe these to be from the second half of the 18th century.

A delightful addition to any period table setting and as can be seen in the photographs are available in taper stick size as well.
