A superb Dutch engraved Light Baluster goblet, having a round funnel bowl engraved with a three masted sailing ship and the motto "Salus Patriae" ( the prosperity of the country), over a stem with central knop with an inverted baluster above and true baluster knop below. all on a plain domed foot .

A superb goblet in perfect original condition.

This glass is the first to be shown from a recently acquired superb collection of glasses mostly from the renowned collection of Graham and Molly Cranch, many of which are illustrated in Bickerton along with some that were also exhibited in the Victoria and Albert Museum in the 1960s,others will be offered in due course.
